St. Ambrose University is an independent, diocesan, Catholic university that enables its students to develop intellectually, spiritually, ethically, socially, artistically and physically to enrich their own lives and the lives of others. It has served the region since 1882.
St. Ambrose offers more than 70 undergraduate majors and 14 graduate programs as well as non-credit courses and training programs. The student-faculty ratio is 11 to 1. The University employs 337 faculty and 299 staff.
Students at St. Ambrose volunteer over 18,000 service hours/year to local projects and community organizations, and significant numbers of faculty and staff serve on community boards, advisory committees or volunteer through local organizations.
